On the night of August 30, 2020, I captured Mars very successfully – despite the unstable atmosphere, I managed to get a lot of fine details. In addition, at the border of light and shadow in the lower part of Mars, a protrusion is noticeable – it is possible that these are high-altitude clouds in the atmosphere of Mars.

Almost a month did not shoot Mars. During this time, Mars increased to 17.69 arc seconds. The atmosphere was not very stable, only 2 out of 8 videos were acceptable. I am very pleased with the significant altitude of the planet above the horizon.

For a month and a half, Mars has grown noticeably to 14.47 arc seconds and turned an interesting sideways. The atmosphere condition during the capturing was very stable, which made it possible to capture many small details on the surface of Mars. Interestingly, Olympus darkened again, although earlier I was able to record the cloud accumulation above the peak. I look forward to the opposition of Mars, but even with such a small angular size, the planet is of great interest both for astrophotographers and for fans of visual observations.
