KGO Observatory, September 26, 2022
I had a chance to visit a wonderful place for work – KGO observatory, located on the Shatjatmaz mountain (KCHR). Despite the proximity of Kislovodsk, the sky is very dark and objects cast a shadow from Jupiter. Unfortunately, I did not have much time and energy to photograph the sky, but I managed to capture something.
Equipment:
-Samyang 135\2.0 ED lens
-Canon 550Da camera
-Sky-Watcher AZ-GTi mount
2 frames per 60s, ISO 800, dark frame substraction.
The shooting technique is simple – I shoot one frame with hourly tracking turned on, then the second without it. Next, I overlay it in layers in a graphics editor and clean up the star tracks.
