On the night of July 3, 2020, I decided to shoot Saturn. The atmosphere was very stable, but far from ideal. I decided to shoot one big video with a duration of 16 minutes, so that I’m probably already collecting enough good shots. I also further increased the focal length of the telescope using an atmospheric dispersion corrector as an extender tube. Planet altitude – 16 degrees.
Equipment:
-Celestron NexStar 8 SE telescope
-long 2x Barlow lens
–ZWO ADC
–ZWO IR-cut filter
–ZWO ASI 183MC camera
Processing: PIPP, Autostakkert (5000 frames from 32811), Registax 6.
Location: Russia, Anapa, backyard.
Below is the version with video derotation in WinJUPOS. My opinion is that with an aperture up to 203 mm inclusive, you can do without derotation if there are no large eddies or hurricanes in the atmosphere of Saturn.
