The Sun, April 16, 2022

The sun continues to delight astronomy lovers with its activity – large spots began to appear more often, as well as unusually shaped prominences. Also, based on today’s shooting, I found out that the focal length of the Coronado PST H-alpha 40 mm telescope is almost the same as that of the Levenhuk Ra R66 ED Doublet Black telescope, which allows you to combine images in H-alpha (656.28 nm) and Solar Continuum without any problems (540 nm). However, I still want to assemble a separate telescope based on the lens from Coronado – I have all the necessary parts, except for the adapter from the lens to the helicoid focuser.

Equipment:
-Coronado PST H-alpha 40 mm telescope
-Sky-Watcher AZ-GTi mount
-Deepsky IR-cut filter
-QHY5III178m camera.
Stacking with Autostakkert (100 frames from 3003), wavelets and deconvolution with AstroSurface.

Sun in continuum (540 nm), April 16, 2022, 10:11

Equipment:
–Levenhuk Ra R66 ED Doublet Black telescope
-Sky-Watcher AZ-GTi mount
-Lacerta Herschel prism
-ND3 filter
-Baader Solar Continuum filter
-QHY5III178m camera.
Stacking of 100 frames from 3104.

And here is the result of combining the images: the red channel is H-alpha, green and blue are Continuum. The task of combining is the simultaneous display of prominences and the photosphere of the Sun. The details of the chromosphere are lost in this case.
